Kāinga Plan: Waitangi/Oromahoe hand over their plan to Far North District Council.
On September 23 rd , 9.30am, Ngāti Rāhiri, Ngāti Kawa and Matarahurahu formally handed Te Kaunihera o Te Hiku o te Ika (FNDC) the recently developed Kāinga Plan - Climate Adaptation Plan (CAP), prior to the formal sitting of Te Kuaka Te Ao Māori Komiti. Russell Death Reviews NRC/FNDC Freshwater Plan Change
Russell Death reviewed the FNDC freshwater plan change – alongside hapū, he argued that measures to improve freshwater quality were not strong enough. On the back of this, Russell led a successful bid for Te Pūnaha Hihiko: Vision Mātauranga Capability Fund to expand the freshwater monitoring protocols and awa planning for Waitangi River hapū – this may be achieved through the charitable trust Ko Waitangi te Awa Trust.
