  • Flooding

  • Inundation of low-lying whenua

  • Storm events

  • Tsunami

  • Earthquake

  • Liquifaction

  • Potential eruption fallout

  • Pandemic

This is a serious list to which recent emergency events have raised hapū awareness. While some events are less likely than others, they all represent significant risk to the survival of Te Rereatukāhia marae community if any were to occur. The hapū is now seeking to utilise Project Kāinga research and findings to put an Emergency Management Plan in place as soon as possible to cover any eventuality.
